PINKY

Nicole Thompson is a Sydney based makeup artist, who has spent over ten years as a Global Brand Ambassador, and is well known and respected within fashion, media, theatre and television circles for her bold, glamorous and iconic style. Her name is synonymous with her vibrant personality, kind and passionate work ethic. This energetic approach to her work that has her fondly known as Pinky in the industry.

Bringing so much more than just makeup, her work crosses into Creative Direction, Makeup Education, Beauty writing and Hosting. Pinky has worked with Cirque du Soleil, appeared on TV shows such as the Morning Show & Today show, collaborated with Brands like MAC, Elizabeth Arden and Clinique and was also the Director of Hair and Make Up for The Voice for 4 Seasons. 

In 2019 she wrote a successful Beauty Book “Making it up, Makeup minus the rules” and it was Published Internationally with New Holland Publishers. 

Pinky’s work has featured in 10 Magazine, Vogue, Grazia, Paper, Harper’s Bazaar, GQ and Marie Claire, among others. 

A familiar face in fashion week circles, in Australia she has directed makeup for Romance Was Born, Kitx, Alice McCall, Harper’s Bazaar in Bloom and Carla Zampatti, amongst a host of others in Australia. She has also spent the past 10 years working on shows in London, Milan, New York and Paris, with highlights being Vivienne Westwood, Prabal Gurung, Jeremy Scott, Balmain, Issey Miyake, Rick Owens and Giambatista Valli, where she assisted Val Garland.

Pinky pulls from a vast range of inspirations in her work, including her love of interior Design, Painting and photography, as well at the boldness of the 90s era she grew up in. She is an expert at bringing an inspired vibrancy to any brief, and it is this fluid method of injecting her unique perspective, artistic ability with that she is known for.

Her vibrant palette and skilful application, combined with her infectious energy, have seen her work with Kate Hudson, Charlie XCX, Jordan Barrett, Dame Edna Everage, Robbie Williams, Jess Gomez, Hugh Jackman and Vera Blue. She has also collaborated with photographers George Antoni, Steven Chee, Byron Spencer, Justin RIDLER, Simon Upton, Jake Terrey and Simon Lekias. Pinky advocates for the celebration of diversity, exploration of colour and self-expression, and this ethos is recognisable in everything she does.
